Benidorm theme parks: Terra Mítica, Aqualandia, Mundomar or Terra Natura?
Updated October 18, 2026 · 7 min read
The short answer. Choose Terra Mítica for rides and theatrical sets, Aqualandia for a full day of slides, Mundomar for a compact animal-focused visit, and Terra Natura for a broader wildlife park with an adjacent water park. There is no universal winner: weather, height restrictions and how long your group enjoys queues matter more than the park with the loudest advertising.
Four different days, not four versions of one park
Terra Mítica is the conventional theme-park choice. Its Mediterranean worlds contain roller coasters, water rides, family attractions and live shows. It suits mixed groups whose priority is rides, but small children will not qualify for every attraction and adults who dislike fast rides may get less value from the ticket.
Aqualandia is a dedicated water park. Go for slides and pools, not animals or elaborate themed scenery. It is the most weather-dependent choice: a hot, clear day improves the experience, while cooler shoulder-season weather can make repeated wet rides less appealing. Check the day’s opening calendar and each slide’s conditions before paying.
Mundomar centres on marine and exotic animals. The Mundomar park ticket starts at €21 in the current Benidorm selection and has 1,584 reviews, more than any other listed local attraction. It is the easiest of these four to treat as a shorter outing, although show times still shape the day.
Terra Natura is a large animal park organised into geographical zones. The Terra Natura day ticket starts at €24. Aqua Natura sits beside it, but it is a separate water-park experience unless your ticket explicitly includes both.
Which park fits which family?
For thrill-seeking teenagers, Terra Mítica usually provides the clearest match. For children who would happily spend the day in swimwear, compare Aqualandia with Aqua Natura rather than assuming all water parks feel alike. Aqualandia is the stand-alone slide day; Aqua Natura becomes especially practical when the family also wants Terra Natura.
Mundomar works well when animals and scheduled presentations are the main interest. Terra Natura gives you more ground to cover and suits visitors who prefer habitats and a longer walking day. Neither ticket guarantees that every animal will be visible at the moment you arrive. Treat published programmes as a plan, not a promise about animal behaviour.
Height, age and supervision rules vary by attraction. Do not infer suitability from a park’s general family label. Check the official attraction page for the shortest member of the group, especially before choosing Terra Mítica or a water park.
Tickets: compare what is actually included
The local selection currently begins at €20.50 for an Aqua Natura day ticket, €21 for Mundomar, €24 for Terra Natura and €28 for Terra Mítica admission. These are starting prices, not a promise for every date or age band.
Before buying, compare the dated ticket, cancellation terms and whether it is a single-park or combination product. Terra Natura’s official site offers one-day and consecutive-day combinations with Aqua Natura; those are different propositions. A one-day combination saves calendar time but demands pace. Two consecutive days let you give each park proper attention and are usually kinder to younger children.
Food, lockers, parking and premium animal experiences may sit outside the basic ticket. Verify them on the booking page rather than assuming that “entry” means an all-inclusive day.
Season and transport can decide for you
The parks do not all follow the same calendar. Water parks are strongly seasonal, while animal parks may operate on more dates. Opening days and hours can change within a month, so consult the park calendar for your exact date.
All four lie outside the beachfront centre. Public transport can work, but the best stop and frequency depend on the park and season. If your party includes a pushchair, several children or bulky swim gear, compare the return journey before choosing on ticket price alone. The Benidorm theme-parks page is the quickest place to compare the currently available tickets.
Our verdict
Pick the experience first: Terra Mítica for rides, Aqualandia for maximum water-slide time, Mundomar for the most compact animal day, or Terra Natura for a broader wildlife visit. For many first-time families who want animals without committing to two parks in one day, the Mundomar ticket is the clearest starting point. The right alternative can still be obvious once you check the weather and the smallest visitor’s restrictions.
